SPORTER AIR RIFLE LEAGUE

The Sporter Air Rifle League will consist of three divisions, Junior, Intermediate and Sub-junior. The Junior Division consists of eligible participants from 18 to 20 years old. The Intermediate division of 15 to 17 years old. The Sub-junior of 8 to 14 years old. Participants under the age of 15 must be accompanied by an adult. The description of Sporter Air Rifle competition, qualifications, equipment specifications, etc. can be obtained from the NRA web site by clicking Here to obtain the official NRA rule book. Participants may use air rifles provided by the San Juan Wildlife Federation or may choose to use their own air rifle as long as it complies with the specifications in the Sporter Air Rifle Position Rule Book. Here . Pellets and targets will be provided by the San Juan Wildlife Federation. The primary target system used is the Athena Electronic Scoring System consisting of an electronic target and competitor monitor for each shooting lane. The matches are held on Monday evenings each week. The 3-position Stage Skill course of fire consists of 10 pellets fired from prone, standing, and kneeling positions. Ten to fifteen minutes will be allowed for each position. Five minutes will be allowed for shooting sighters and five minutes will be allowed for each change of position.  Fees: $5.00 per match. AIR RIFLE SILHOUETTE LEAGUE

The Air Rifle Silhouette League will consist of three divisions, Junior, Intermediate and Sub-junior. The Junior Division consists of eligible participants from 18-20 years old. The Intermediate division of 15-17 year olds. The Sub-junior of 8-14 year olds. Participants under the age of 15 must be accompanied by an adult. The description of Air Rifle Silhouette competition, qualifications, equipment specifications, etc. can be obtained from the NRA web site by clicking here to obtain the official NRA Silhouette Rifle Rules book. Participants may use air rifles provided by the San Juan Wildlife Federation or may choose to use their own air rifle as long as it complies with the specifications in the NRA Silhouette Rifle Rules book for Sporter air rifle.  The Rule Book can be found Here.  Pellets and targets will be provided by the San Juan Wildlife Federation. Targets to be used are NRA approved 1/8" thick rolled steel, scaled chicken, turkey, pigs and rams. Dates and times for matches are TBD. Currently, sign-up for this league is to gauge interest in establishing such a league. If there is enough interest, those who sign-up will be contacted to determine dates and times of the league matches.  Fees: $5.00 per match. PROGRESSIVE POSITION PISTOL LEAGUE

The Progressive Position Pistol is a bullseye league that complies with the NRA International Air Pistol rules.  The League will consist of three divisions, Junior, Intermediate and Sub-junior. The Junior Division consists of eligible participants from 18-20 years old. The Intermediate division of 15-17 year olds. The Sub-junior of 12-14 year olds. Participants under the age of 15 must be accompanied by an adult. Participants younger than 12 years old will be considered on a case by case basis and depends on the shooters ability to hold and control the air pistol. The Progressive Position Pistol course of fire consists of 10 pellets fired at three to four sets of targets. Fifteen minutes will be allowed for each set of targets. Five minutes will be allowed for scoring of each set of targets and five minutes will be allowed for each change of position. Participants may use air pistols provided by the San Juan Wildlife Federation or may choose to use their own air pistol as long as it complies with the specifications in the Progressive Position Pistol Rule Book. Pellets, targets and shooting equipment are be provided by the San Juan Wildlife Federation. Targets to be used are NRA approved B-40 for both practice and scoring. AIR PISTOL SILHOUETTE LEAGUE

The Air Pistol Silhouette is a silhouette league similar to the Air Rifle Silhouette League only shot with pistols at shorter distances. The rules may be downloaded  Here . The league will consist of three divisions, Junior, Intermediate and Sub-junior. The Junior Division consists of eligible participants from 18-20 years old. The Intermediate division of 15-17 year olds. The Sub-junior of 13-14 year olds. Participants under the age of 15 must be accompanied by an adult. Younger participants will be considered on a case by case basis and depends on the shooters ability to hold and control the air pistol. Dates and times for matches are TBD. The Air Pistol Silhouette League will most likely meet and shoot with the Air Rifle Silhouette League at an outdoor range. Currently, sign-up for this league is to gauge interest in establish such a league.
